Electronic Display Not Working
Hey Guys,
Just re-installed the original Delco Radio back into my '86 Iroc (for originality purposes) after the previous owner had a Sony Radio Cassette in it's place.
Trouble is I don't have a frequency display to look at or tune into etc.
The digital clock lights up and I get a station or two trying to come thru the speakers but mainly I get static.
Is my set fried?
Anybody throw some light on why my frequency display dosen't light up and why I can't tune into anything?
Thanks for any reply

I need plugging in
Well talk about missing the obvious.
The display came to life when I decided to fire the engine up instead of just turning the ignition on.

Thats what I thought too!
Usually on most other (if not all) vehicles you turn the key to a pre- set position on the barrel without firing the engine and radio/ancillaries will work.
All the wires appear to plugged in correctly but the radio (not Radio/Cassette) will only tune in and display frequency with the engine running?
Anybody any ideas?
I would hate to see my 'roc go up in smoke

I dont know, all I can say is trace the power wire and make sure it is hooked to the radio fuse. Well, make sure the one wire has constant for clock and programming, and the other is to the clock fuse. I think the red is the constant power? Im not sure I am sure someone does, if my car wasnt sitting in a garage getting fixed I could check for ya.
