Pics of my hidden Amp Install
Before. I just laid the amp in the trunk and ran the wires to it. Worked great, but I couldn't use my trunk anymore. So it had to go.
Testing. It's a Crunch with 4x 75W RMS that powers my Infinity Kappa 4x6" and Infinity Reference 6x9" speakers.
The new location. I still keep my spare tire and the glove box.
Done. Where's my amp?

It didn't get hot in the trunk so I guess it should work. If it doesn't I'll mount a 12V fan in the box.

Hey man, that spot is perfect. I think I may do that myself. Class D amp for me, so the cooling won't be too much of an issue. I think if you just cut some slats into the cardboard storage compartment, you'll get enough air. Or like you said, hook up a 12v fan.

I didn't use screws. I glued some sound dampening stuff to the fender to prevent rattles, laid the amp in place and installed the wood to hold it there.

nice that the spare tire compartment or the place under the cardboard compartment? Looks weird without all that trim.

ought to put a good lock on that box so if some bastard decides to bust out your back window, he'll have to take the entire thing to get your amps.

he dug it up because the images disappeared.
you could always try something like this... I get to keep the spare, AND the glovebox.

i dug it up because i refrenced it in another thread and realised that when folks clicked to look back at the old post they would not see pictures and never know what i was talking about.
also, if you searched and found this page (like i did when i thought about "that cool hidden install i have a picture of") and everyone is raving about how awsome it is and there are no photos you would be like "awwwww!" so i fixed it as a public service.
a;so in this perticular install the amp is behind the glovebox, you still have FULL USE of your glovebox. one drawback is that you must remove that pannel in order to anjust anything.

But there aren't any pictures here besides the one you attached. Couldn't you have attached that picture in the thread you were originally in?

how much space is there behind the original glovebox to fit an amp in there? why wouldn't they have just made the glovebox bigger?
