sound advice: infinity reference subs = short life span
Well took a look at my subs yesterday(2 12" infinity ref.) as I was doing some cleaning and they are not in very good shape after 2 years. The left one has developed a bubble on part of the cone. No idea why it decided to do that. The right sub is begining to crack all the way aroung the cone about an inch below the surround. Since I got them at accomodation pricing I'm not to sad but everything else I have is in perfect shape. Guess you get what you pay for.

Polk MOMO, Infinity Perfect 12, Alpine Type R. There are a lot of nice 12s out there. It all depends on what sound you are looking for and how much you are looking to spend

Infinity Kappa Perfect, Alpine Type X or Type R, lots of others. The Infinity Reference line is their value line, meaning most any 12" sub will be a good upgrade.

I would go with the Perfects...i like the way the sound and you wont have to modify your box...but on the life span of your subs, 2 years really isnt all that bad....not great but...

2 years of "life" out of a subwoofer is all-out terrible. something is wrong there.

Got 6 years on my JL 10W6s. Surround starting to dry out now. Soon to be replaced by a PG Titanium.

I think by the time the rubber starts to "dry" up on the surrounds, you'll prolly need new speakers anyhow...
