Speaker Wiring Harness

Hey everyone, I have a simple question. What cars (if any) had the same wiring harness for speakers as a firebird in 89?

o, well thanks trickster hopefully i do because i would like to put aftermarket speakers up front and back, but, only if i do not have to cut the original harness. While it is possible to just disconnect the speaker wires from the original harness and wire my own speaker wire in place of the stuff i pulled out, that is one can of worms i do not want to open

I think all GM vehicles had the harness plug right into the speaker itself, not a pigtail. You can buy plug-in adapters at Best Buy and other places to hook aftermarket speakers to, but there's a cheaper way.

3M "wire taps" are available in various places including Parts Express.

You wrap it around the wire and squeeze with pliers. Then you can plug in a little pig tail with a blade style connector that plugs right in. Voila. Nice and cheap way to add speakers without hacking off your original plugs.
