Well FYI, I am going to be running a Pioneer AVIC-N2, it has XM satellite instant Navigation, DVD, and the Vehicle Dynamics display, it is modified so that you can still watch a movie while the car is moving. Pioneer dash speakers, kick panel enclousures, and Pioneer 6x9's in the sail panels, with a Pioneer 5 channel amp powering them. For the bass there is 2 Pioneer SPL subs with 2 of the SPL mono block amps. It should be hitting hard enough for me.

There are even a few people, who are even beyond idiot status, that play their systems at full power through residential areas after 10:00 PM (when many people go to bed). I don't believe that this type of behavior is good for the industry. If the fines get too stiff, people will stop buying large systems. True that. People get rediculous. I usually just keep it to a nice level, if you're sitting next to me at a light you might here a lil bass, but prolly not. I turn it down when at my house, when in drive thru lines, all that. It is rare that I actually have it turned up enough to push the subs, or so you can hear me coming. I think bottom line, people need to remember the Golden Rule. When it comes to stereos, burn outs, exhausts, just in general in life.

also, since you're going to spend about 2 grand on subs and amps to run them, why are you going to run 6x9s and 4x6's off the deck? you wont even hear them over the 15's. invest in a good set of components and some kickpanels, and amp them.

Yeah I have already removed the back seats, I plan using the mojo's. I've been working on fiberglassing the kick panels for some time now and going to amp them I don't run any thing off the deck just been busy laying ever thing out still figuring out to worry about the small thing on my audio list at the moment. The electrical up grades are already underway to meet the power needs.

wow... I must be spoiled in the car audio area... cuz I wouldn't settle for a deck unless it was at least twice as expensive as your whole setup....

I believe it's in St. Louis that they are trying for a law that limits you to no more than a total of 12" of large speakers (aka subwoofers). If you have more than 12" then they would ticket you. Sucky, huh?

that's like pre-crime... I mean, if you aren't being inconsiderate to people around you, or abusing your power (literally,) then why should you receive a ticket?
I own a gun. It can kill people, but it doesn't. Should I be charged with murder since I own it, but never fire it?
That's like saying that since my car has 310RWHP that I should get a speeding ticket everytime a cop sees me, (which seems to be the case anyways! ) just because I can speed...
rediculous... that's almost enough to write a congressmen/representative over...

yup I have heard of it... they have done it in Houston, Dallas, and NOW Austin!!!
None of my friends want to go down town anymore... instead we all just play beer pong or go to random parties... since it's cheaper, and safer, it's a win/win situation...
but the TABC thing is a bunch of crap... basically what happened is that the government was gonna shut down TABC for lack of performance/need... so they decided, in a desperate measure, to pull this 'manuever.' Good or bad, it sure brought attention to them... so now they won't be cancelled....
MOST bars are furious, because they have lost a LARGE number of patrons... and hell, people are getting ARRESTED for having less than four beers... wow...

As for the gun comparison, not enough people that own guns shoot people to make it illegal to own a gun but more than enough kids with stereos (even crappy stereos) will drive around town blasting their ****. How many times have you heard someone doing that? It's not the end of the world when someone does that but it's not very considerate either.
From my understanding, cops are not going to be pulling people over checking their equipment unless they’re drawing attention to themselves. Instead of having vague laws which require a decibel meter to enforce, a quick visual inspection is all that is required to write someone a ticket that they won't be able to weasel their way out of in traffic court.
Personally, I would love to see harsher rules implemented for driving as well. Jersey drivers (and NY/PA too) are some of the worst in the world having grown up in Texas. I can't stand driving around here with all the a**holes on the road. Pull more people over for tailgating, failure to stop at stop signs (and red lights), etc.
I do agree on the drinking thing, it is pretty stupid and should be taken to court.
