Possible to install fact. 4th-gen CD player in '88 Camaro?

Has anyone tried installing a factory 4th-gen radio into a third-gen? I have an '88 Camaro, and I had an extra radio from a '94 Camaro. Any ideas?

It has been done and it's not that hard - just match the wires on the two harnesses and install the deck. Someone even got the variable speed volume to work. If you search you will find a good deal of posts.

I have one in my 88. Mine doesn't have the fan on the back, might make it a bit tougher to install. Only problem I ran into was that I had to cut some off the back side of the console faceplate where it contacts the radio dial. Brackets and such are pretty similiar, no problems there. Looks like a factory install.
