door panel speaker question

Hey,

I have an 87 Trans am. I was looking to upgrade the stereo system and in doing so add another pair of speakers. I know Q logic makes kick panel speakers, and there is a guy on the site that makes great ones. Is there anyone that makes door speaker panels for third gens as opposed to putting them at the kick panel?

Re: door panel speaker question

The simple way would be to cut and cover a panel of proper thickness (depending on how deep the speakers are) and trim the metal in the door if necessary and then mount the panel to the door panel. Unfortunately those that I have seen done before really didn't look that good when finished. I went with the Q forms, I've just finished assembling a new set of their panels for 6.5" speakers with a new set of Boston Acoustic seperates. I'll be sticking them in the car tomorrow to replace the 5.25 set there now.

Re: door panel speaker question

Yea, I looked into kick panels but it would seem door speaker panels would provide a better sound, and just be less in the way. Is there anyone out there that makes door speaker panels for third gens?

Re: door panel speaker question

AudioForms used to make some door panels. I have a pair in my Camaro.

I also have a pair of custom fiberglass kick panels for sale. They're much better than the Q-logic pre-fabbed ones.
