Reinstalled aftermarket CD player, right speakers don't work
Car: 1987 Firebird Formula
Hey guys, I just finished putting in my new 350 and got the car running. Tonight I reinstalled the Pioneer CD player that my wife had originally in the car. I had to buy two new aftermarket harnesses to put it in. When I got it in and working, I noticed that only the left speakers work. Neither the right front nor the right rear speakers work. I pulled the RR speaker out and both of the wires were connected. I double checked the balance controls on the radio and that was fine.
It's not a huge problem as of now, but would like to figure it out because I like to drive with some music and it's kind of annoying when only the left speakers have sound coming out of them.
Anybody have any ideas? I'm sort of mediocre at wiring so if anybody else has ever had this problem or has any ideas, let me know.
Also, another tid bit of info. When the cd player was removed from the car, everything worked fine, and it was also in her brother's truck after the car's motor blew and before I put a new one in. He says that everything worked fine when he took it out of his truck too.
Edit: Just thought of another thing. When I do set the balance on the CD player all the way to the right, I hear nothing. No static or anything, which kind of makes me think that the speakers aren't blown and it's another problem.

well if the cd player is still easily removable from the car i'd just run a couple wires to the speakers, if they now work you know the problem is in the wiring. just a thought you know.

My stock cassette player does the exact same thing. No noise, nothing. But, once every few weeks, it will just CRACKLE loudly and then stop again. Maybe there is a faulty point in the stock wiring/harness for the pass. side?
Not real worried about it, want to get the 350 built first then worry about the flashy stuff.

I agree with blue, it must be in the wiring. I'd make sure the wires are hooked up to the back of the radio first if nothing still then I would run some test wires to the speaker itself. Just like blue said if it works then you know the problem lies in your orginal wiring.
