OEM cassette w/Eclipse spkrs = pop & crackle

I have a 1986 factory cassette w/ EQ and one cassette without EQ.

I wired four Eclipse speakers to factory wiring and started having problems.

first, the sound wasn't very good. Speakers don't sound blown but sounded bass heavy.....and there is a pop sound when i turned the headunit off.

Then a few weeks later, the poping sound is now when i turn off and on the headunit and there is crackling sound through all four speakers.

I connected the other headunit and it was worse...even crackled when adjusting the volume.

I removed the rear speakers....and crackling from the front speakers...switched them and crackling from the rears.

I moved the ground to under the pass. seat, but no help.

I want to keep the factory look radio, but need some help.

Re: OEM cassette w/Eclipse spkrs = pop & crackle

probably broken solder joints in the radios-this is a very
common problem with thirdgen era delco radios and is
easy to fix if you are handy with soldering and electronic
repair.
If problem only happens at higher volume, speakers
might be too low impedance, causing radio's amps to
distort.
