1984 camaro radio harness
when i got the car it didnt have a radio. i bought a deck and put it in but i still cant get it to work properly. this is what the wires on the body side of the harness shud be
Car Radio Battery Constant 12v+ Wire: Orange
Car Radio Accessory Switched 12v+ Wire: Yellow
Car Radio Ground Wire: Black
Left Front Speaker Positive Wire (+): Tan
Left Front Speaker Negative Wire (-): Gray
Right Front Speaker Positive Wire (+): Light Green
Right Front Speaker Negative Wire (-): Dark Green
Left Rear Speaker Positive Wire (+): Brown
Left Rear Speaker Negative Wire (-): Yellow
Right Rear Speaker Positive Wire (+): Dark Blue
Right Rear Speaker Negative Wire (-): Light Blue
the problem is, the two power wires coming from the radio side of harness i have hooked up to the yellow power on the body harness and the radio works fine but it doesnt retain the radio settings and presets. what wire am i supposed to be hooked up to to keep the presets and whatnot? i read there shud be an orange wire but ill i found was a redish/orangish wire with a black wire along with it and i dont know what it is. any pictures with all the proper factory wires or info would be great. thanks

Just rewire it, Its really not that bad. Red from the battery a ground and a switched ignition from the fuse box. Or just hard wire it and shut the deck off when your done.

I haven't had time to solve my radio issue, but if you check out this thread I made, you'll see photos of what I assume to be the factory harness

Re: 1984 camaro radio harness
i dont need to rewire anything, i have everything hooked up properly and the radio works the only thing that isnt hooked up properly is the power wires, i hooked up both powers to the radio to the only power wire i saw (yellow wire in car) and it works fine but there shud be one other power wire to hook up so my station presets and clock will stay when i shut the car off which its not doing. thanks ill check the pics out

Re: 1984 camaro radio harness
the orange/red wire you're missing is what keeps the memory in the radio; its a constant +12v that stays on at all times. since this was not hooked up, the memory disappears. if you cannot find the correct wire, you can always run a new wire to the battery
