3" antenna
Anybody know if the 3" antennas work as well as the tall factory ones? or do they look funny when on? I thought about deleting my antenna all together and figuring out how to hid it or something, but I don't want to repaint the whole fender to do that...

It will not work as well. To see if you like the look simply take your stock one off, pop the ball off with some pliers(be easy as to not grab it to hard and bust it). I usually take the pliers and "pop it" from underneath the ball and it will come off.
Then just hacksaw it to the length you want and put the ball back on, touch up with black spray paint and bam...done.

The others are right. The factory length is considered the "Ideal length". That said, it also depends on where you live and drive. If you are in an area where you are closer to the stations you listen to, then you will not notice the weaker signal. I am deleting and shaving the antenna on my IROC, as I consider that to be the ugliest thing on the car. I'm going to put a hidden antenna under the dash pad.
Good luck, either way.

I just painted a nut with a round top on it black and screwed it on where the antenna goes. Looks just like a power antenna, costs basically nothing. And i still get okay reception.
