subs get rid of them?
I have two 12" Rockford whatever subs in my car. They are atteched to a piece of particle board that is the shape of the dip in the trunk. The board just lays over the dip. I want to get rid of this setup for weight reasons and I like to feel my base and I just seem to hear it now. (it does shake things but not as much as I like) Plus I rarely ever listen to loud music anyway. I know a full box would be good but that ways too much for me. The bass isnt as crisp and clear as it should be. What would be my best bet. Bazzoka tube? better subs and keep my setup as is?

probably gonna damage your subs that way. it probably sounds like $hit cuz they're not in a sealed box. your subs are probably already damaged. are they amped? how big is your amp?
jim85iroc can tell you EVERYTHING
-they have custom boxes for 3rd gens that fit right into the trunk well

id say if you want a system, build or buy a box for your subs, itll sound 100% better in a sealed box than just laying there.. i would love to smack the living crap out of the guy that came up with the idea of mouinting subs in a plate system like that... RF subs arnt that bad, unless their the basic series 1 subs (value about 25 bux each), but even a set of series 1 12"s in a good box with the right ammount of power goin to them should give you the bass you want.. and yes, a 8" bass tube will give you harder hitting bass than 2 12"s in a plate.. heheh

man get tens in a stock box and face them towards the well and you will get tons of bass. i do and i have jl audio tens stock box, 200 watt boss amp bridged(i bought it off a buddy for cheap and dont know how many watts it is briged), and sony head, and it is plenty loud and sounds good.

A single 10" sub in a particle board box will weigh no more than 15 pounds, and will out hammer your setup all day long. Plates suck as much as anything that sucks has ever sucked before. Did I mention they suck? You can also buy an empty 10" tube and throw a good 10" into that. The 10" tube will fit snugly down in the well, and will weigh less than the box.

Like I said right now I have two 12's on that stupid plate I have. Each sub is powered by a seperate pioneer amp. One of the subs Is still good the other is going bad. To save money and work with what I have I was thinking about making a box for 1 of my 12's so that it will fit Neatlty in the rear well and not weight much. I want to feel my bass more than hear it. I dont know if there are certain ways like shapes and sizes to build a box, if there is can some one give me dimensions and materials to use to make this box?
