Performance change after switch???

Just wanting to know if the swap from TPI to carb using the same motor, heads, etc... on L98 changes performance? I figure gas mileage may change, but how about e.t's? Would I notice a difference if I did the swap on my 88 L98?

You should gain a bit of performance as the enging will not run out of air as quickly as the TPI does.

You will see a significant improvment, but not a huge one. It's still gonna be a motor with stock heads and a stock puny cam. The biggest good point of a carb is that you CAN go to a good cam/heads, and not go backwards on performance because of limited programming and a mismatched intake.
