switched from tbi to carb today...simple question about choke
edelbrock 1406, ..electric choke....has a relay for it, two black wires that lead to the chose, ...one wire wite, and one red wire....i know the white goes to a switched ingition relay. where does the red go...constant 12 volt source i.e. battery??
also, ...when i raise the fuel pressure up, VIA mallry 3 port AFPR....why does the fuel line shake, and the pressure surge? needle will be jumping....whats up with this?
i ran a wire from a switched ignition relay to the green wirte with the white stripe on the fuel pump relay. this is correct?
the surging of the fuel line happens when the key is on the Acc. position...i havent tried to crank it yet.
this happens when i put it on 6 psi. if i set it below 6 psi and it seems stable.

All the choke needs is to be grounded and have a switched power. Not sure on how that relay needs to be wired. Not running a relay on mine, just directly to switched power. The carb doesn't 'need' pressure to operate. Just needs enough volume to keep the fuel bowl's full. The only part of the carb that can 'see' the pressure is the needle and seat. 5-6 psi is plenty as long as it can maintain it during high demand(WOT)--and I'm sure it probably can.
