1985 Camaro Z28 - LG4 Project
I've been looking at getting another thirdgen. Its an 85 Z28 with a LG4 and an Automatic. Its been sitting for 1-2 years at a local gas station. Says it runs but runs really really rough. Wants $800 for it. Says it only needs carburetor rebuilt and possibly a new power steering pump. My concern is what kind of problems could I run int with the car sitting so long and any emmissions problemsI should encounter with the LG4 ???
This will be in addittion to my fourth gen so I can work on it as time comes by.
Body is in great shape, clear coat is gone, minor rust under molding, no biggie, crack in front valence and a hole in rear bumber cover, no biggie.
Has an Accel Distributor. I just want a toy to play with and workon in my spare time. I tired of modding a car that must be a daily driver as well.

My immediate concerns would be dry rotting gaskets, hoses, tires, and moisture in the tank. Also rodents like to nest in vehicles that have been sitting forever. Offer him 500.

Unless you plan on redoing the entire car, this may be more headache than project.

The Accel Distributor is the only thing that doesn't seem to be stock. Has original Carb, or at least a regular Q-Jet. Stock Exhuast.

Are you sure it's an entire Accel distributor, or just the coil?
The computer controlled q-jet has a multi-wire connector on the front driver's side corner. Does this carb have that connector?

It was a whole Accel Distributor with I think a Borg Warner Cap. I don't remember if there was a connector or not.
I don't think I will buy this car. It seems to be too much work that I can't really afford/have space to do.
I looking into drifting recently and I am just finding all my options!
Thanks for all the help guys, you were great!
