missing at higher rpms

ok i took off my 759 dp and put on a new 650 dp the 750 was too big. it runs awesome but from first to 2nd runs fine from shifting from 2nd to 3rd and 4th at the higher rpm range it seems to sound like is missing. i personally think its the timing. i am goin to mess around with that then see if it still does it..........does anyone else have any more ideas what it is. thanks

Fast miss or a slow miss? If it is a slow miss, it could be a too rich fuel condition.

I had a simular problem, turned out to be timing too far advanced.

actually it was one of the wires on the dist. was showin some wire, making it miss, its all fixed now, runs perfect..........................................................................................................
update took to track friday nite was 2 seconds slower than normal times

on third run goin through the traps engine sounded a bit weird for a second, went to pits, idled normal, giving gas herd some wapping.......went home pulled valve covers saw nothing. pulled dip stick, seen slight metal shavings...thinking a bearing spun out.... welp time for a 383 woo aha ha haha

been racing for about 6 years, first time something major happened, can't complain that much

The reported percentage varies from telling to telling, but approximately 75% of carb problems are solved by fixing the ignition.

In my experience, fixing reving problems has also been known to cause bearing problems...
