Adapt Gen I SBC manifold for TPI engine mounting
Well,
I've got a 305 TPI with issues. Currently, I redid most of the ignition with MSD stuff. I replaced a few sensors and bought a Scan Tool.
Well, everything checks out and the engine should be running awesome. But it has a nasty miss at idle and somewhat while driving. Looks to me now like the injectors might be rusted from sitting for a couple of years.
I have a 600cfm holley carb, vacuum secondary. Basic carb. And unfortunately, a Weiand Xcelerator single plane intake manifold. And I guess I will be using an old style HEI distributor that I have for the vacuum/centrifugal advance (as the computer would no longer operate timing properly). I guess I could swap the roller cam distributor gear onto my older style distributor, I hope.
But, I guess I would need angled spacers for the center bolts on the intake manifold, I have seen some new intakes come with these, but, I need a set. Anyone know where I can get these?
Any suggestions about my potential setup would also be appreciated.
The motor itself is stock internally... this will be an ugly setup
I need the engine to run smooth though.
If all else fails, I rebuild a Gen I 350 I have.
