My delco carb: Question: pic inside
Hello
how are you
first let me tell you i dont know much about engines.
i recently bought 84 T/A and i was just about this carb. I noticed that this door in the pic. always stay fully open all the time even if the car is not running .
just wanted to know if that's normal?

Open the throttle with the engine cold and see if it closes.

That's the choke plate. When the throttle is closed, it'll stay trapped in whatever position its in. If everything works then when the throttle opens, it'll want to be shut if the engine is cold, and open within a few minutes of starting.
