Help! Holley 600 vacuum secondary

I have a Holley 600 on my 91 305, straight to the point. I read over the Holley tuning but I cannot get jets yet, which I don't know would solve my problem. Anyways, I cannot get car to stop surging. I set air fuel when it's cold and it surges at operating temp, set it at operating temp and guess what, next day it's doing the same thing. What in the world is wrong with this carb? I've never had this kind of trouble! I'm just trying to get the thing to run good and stop surging, help please.

Prolly needs different jets.

Don't worry, when the ones you've ordered come in, you'll be able to knock it right out.

Would jets really affect the temp difference in running? Cause I can say it runs like an mf'er apposed to just idling at 220 temp

Absolutely.

Think of it as a matter of "efficiency"... the energy in the fuel goes SOMEWHERE. It either goes out the exhaust, or makes power, or into the coolant. If it doesn't burn right, it won't go into the ONE of those 3 that you want it to.

Might want to try advancing the timing a bit; see if you REALLY have an ignition curve mismatch.

Re: Help! Holley 600 vacuum secondary

I have read your question, I see that you have posted the car as a crossfire FI. Isee the vehicle has been converted to carburetion at one point. Did the factory distributor get converted to non HEI EST style whether HEI with mechanical advance or a aftermarket unit? The ECM will not be able to properly control ignition advance without a TPS signal. If this is the case ignition will be fixed as it will be in limp in mode, surging and very poor drive ability will result. I would start there, one final note turn the ignition switch to "on" and do you have a check engine light that comes on? If so the the vehicles ECM is still alive and maybe trying to affect timing.
