350 HO vs electric fuel pump
My 91 RS is a 305 TBI, and I may be swapping the blown 305 out for a GM 350 High Output carbed engine. My question is, since carbs dont need a lot of fuel psi, would the tbi pump be enough? I wpuld throw a regulator on to get to the desired psi, but would it be applicable?

Re: 350 HO vs electric fuel pump
The stock TBI 305 pump reg'ed down to 5psi will work fine for street use and red light to red light fun. It does not have enough volume to support 400 HP and WOT at the drag strip run 6K rpm..
It will work find for street and mild performance though

Re: 350 HO vs electric fuel pump
Very nice. The 350 HO only puts out 330 horsepower, so it should be fine. Plus it only makes power to around 5200 so blammo. Any suggestions on fuel regulators?

Re: 350 HO vs electric fuel pump
I have not done a EFI to carb swap with the in-tank pump in years, so I don't know if there is any better regulators out now, but the one I use to use was the Mallory 4309 that was about $80-90

A few notes about the Holley 600. Though the carb may have changed since I purchased my 350HO, you might take a peek:

BTW, I ran an OE mechanical pump for years before swapping for a high-flow Carter.
