fuel cooler/coolcan
I was wandering about the use of a fuel cooler or a cool can. Has anyone tried one and was it worth the time/money? I figured it would be quite easy to rig one up with some metal line and a coffee can, but I don't want to waste my time if it doesn't provide a significant gain. The track is finally open and it is time to pull out some quick last minute goodies. Thanks!

Car: Camaro sc

I Experimented with this type of thing awhile back.Instead of a cooler can ,i used armorflex wrapped around the fuel line from the pump to the carb to protect it from the heat.I found that keeping the fuel cool didn't seem to do much for power, and it had a negative effect on my gas mileage.Keep in mind that i was only using my butt-dyno and had no track time to back this up.Different combinations may get a different result also.I think you'd be better off trying to cool the air intake charge.

Thats what I mean, if you add ice before a race will I gain a tenth or so. It would only be about an hour or two of work and about $10 worth of parts to build one. If I don't hear from someone who has tried it then I will post results. Thanks!
