You know, the more I look at all the topics on this paticular board, it really sucks to see a few people were actually scammed. In everyone of these "CHEQUE SCAMS", they all to seem to use the capitol letters, and they seem to be pre-written. But the thing that really sticks out, is the way that they are "WORDED WITH IGNORANCE"! In every one of these I can see that the buyer, or scammer, is pretty much, insisting on how the transaction will be done. I dont know about everyone else, but, if I am dealing with a seller, I ask, which methods of payment are they willing to accept? Not tell them how its gonna be! That by itself will raise a flag with me. Alot of our younger members out there, PLEASE carefully read, and check the profiles, on every potential buyer, or seller. And also, dont get me wrong, I love a good joke, like hanging the bogus check up on the wall, etc., but we gotta start to really take this stuff serious! Its so easy to just tell the criminals to bug off, but I believe we should kick it up a notch, and start involving the proper authorities. When I recieved the scam e-mail, I really wanted to tell them that "I didnt fall off the turnip truck yesterday", but instead, played along. What the heck, they already have my mailing address anyway. So , to make a long story short , if my check does come, which I doubt, after writing this, and the scums can actually read, Im heading to my state police, with the check, western union instructions, and a copy of the e-mails. Hey, I know its a long shot, but you never know. And nothing definately will be done, if we just brush these scumbags off. WE GOTTA GET INTO AT LEAST TRYING TO STOP THIS AND CLEAN UP OUR ORGANIZATION!!!....Tom
