Hey congrats! Does your 5-speed car have rear disk brakes? There are a few of them but it is hard to say how many. Enjoy! Let's see a pic!

Your disc brakes must have been put on after the car left the factory.

Disc Brakes, Drum Brakes ... who gives a crap! You have another vert IROC! Congratulations! I'm a 'bird man myself, but I love the IROCs, too.
Hey, does this mean you're going to have to change your username to "3badcams"?

Hmm..interesting. I guess I am mistaken. When I was looking for my IROC several years ago, I searched for over a year for the perfect one.
I must have looked at over 60 cars easily. Not one of those cars ever came with disc brakes. Also, some did have the G92 option with oil cooler and dual-cat exhaust, but never disc brakes.
Now a car with 5-speed and factory 4 wheel discs...wow..that must be really..really rare!

Replace the valve seals (maybe other engine work too) and put a sharp paint job on it and you have one nice, rare IROC.
Somebody please grab this and make it what it should be.

My car came with factory 4 wheel disk brakes too. And it's a factory 5-speed as well. Very fun to drive!
Congrats, I'm sure you'll love driving that car!

Ya...i guess I know better now for next time.
I was looking for only 5-speed cars. I hate driving autos.
I finally found my car with 5 speed, and 45k miles..with leather and everythiing except for that damn g92 option.
Oh well..it's not like matters now anyway.
My car is so hopped up now, virtually nothing is left stock anymore.
After the 383/T56, new paint, and new wheels, she should be lookin mighty fine!

I don't know what you were looking at but the G92 option was available in 2 configurations only. ....L98/auto and .... 305/T5 combo.
Depends on the year. This is true for the latter third gen years but not the earlier years. I believe the break point was 1988-89. I own a 1987 IROC-Z coupe. It is a 305 TPI / auto WITH G92, limited-slip and rear discs. The proof is in the SPID sticker.
Speaking specifically about the 1987 model year, Z28 convertibles (with and without the IROC-Z option) were offered with only two drivetrain combos, the no-cost base 305 carb (LG4) with mandatory automatic and the optional 305 TPI (LB9) with the no-cost base 5-speed. The G92 was an option only on the Z28 with the IROC-Z option and only with the TPI / 5-speed. This got you the 9-bolt Borg Warner with 3.45 gears in lieu of the 10-bolt with 3.08 gears. Let me emphasize, this is only true for 1987.
Just had to clarify....
