I was getting a little dizzy after a few minutes! Very nice ride. Hard to see some when it was all dark.
After making sure the windows are down, I like to release the front latches first. This helps to relieve any possible tension on the front part of the roof before raising the back half. When lowering the roof, I also like to hold it in the middle to avoid any uneven tension on the roof and to avoid any twisting on the roof, even if it's slight. The same when raising the roof. Lastly, before I close the tonneau cover, I make sure the latch handles are in the closed position so the handles are lying flat. They can rub the inside of the tonneau cover when it's down.
I apologize if any of this was represented in the video.
That's kinda interesting to see how others open their tops.
I use the tonneau release button on the console instead of the two wires to release the tonneau cover. Everything else though is mostly the same. I love verts!

I thought that butttom was for the trunk!? how do you pop the trunk then? ive just been using a key.
I don,t know about your car ,but the back release on mine won,t pop without the front releases done first. I guess my top is just tight. I use the button on the consol to open the tonnaeu, if you close the cover briskly ( not slam) both tonnaeu locks should catch. First step should always be lower the windows first!

Have you never tried it? Unless there's an issue with the top, you would have quickly discovered it is meant to open the tonneau cover. That's why it has a pic of tonneau cover on it . . .
The cables are there only as a temporary back-up should it fail.
The trunk is opened only with the key.
PS; WARNING to all vert newbies . . . NEVER open the trunk lid with the tonneau cover already in the up position. They can not occupy the same space at the same time and you will cause damage.
I believe there is a safety preventing the opening of the tonneau cover when the trunk lid is up, but not the reverse.

I can understand why he may have thought it was the boot as my TTop the same button activated the boot so I would have assumed it was for the boot as well.
Thanks for all your help - I finally get my car on Wednesday after it has been cleared by customs and MAF

so you do it in this order.
pop the back. then push the button for the boot then the front latches?
Yup..that sounds right. Also, convertibles never had an automatic trunk opener due to security purposes. You don't want to give someone easy access to your trunk if you leave your car parked with the top down.

Well that makes sense doesn't it Trust a kiwi not to think about that

That works. Also, if you're already in the car and decide you want the top down, release the front latches first. That way, when you get out to pop the back and raise the tonneau cover, you don't have to get back in the car again to do the front latches.
