Manual + Electric Fan

Right now i have a manual flex fan, and while i'm driving the temps are nice n low (round 180) but if i stop the temp starts creepin up till i get moving again, so i was wondering would i be ok to install a fan infront of the rad, toggled to a switch or sensor so taht if the temps started to creep up i could turn the electric fan on?

or would having both the electric fan and the manual fan running hurt cooling?

well granted that would be the simplest way, but i already have the flex a lite fan, and i was givin a single 14" fan for free.. so if this would work then its a hell of a lot cheaper to do it this way..

i just want to make sure i won't screw anything up, cause one guy i talked to said there is a chance that the 1 fan pushing air would screw up the air coming to the other fan, or somethin like that... but he wasn't sure.

you could try and use the electric fan as a pusher fan, install it between the front grille and the radiator. Then your flex fan could be a puller fan. you can get those DIY kits to install en electric fan from advance auto for like 10 bux,, and for like another 20 you can get an adjustable theromstat controller. I personally dont forsee the elec. fan getting in the way of cooling, but hey who knows
