best place to buy AC Evac pump and tools

Where is the best place or website for the person that would like to buy the equipment to charge AC or work on this stuff. Also still looking for web site on how to convert over to 134a with pictures and stuff. I found it on someones cardomain web site once. Also when I turn my fan on max it does not run at all. All other speeds work but this one. Help

If you don't want to buy a vacuum pump and gauges, see if your local Autozone has them on loaner-tool.

I borrowed an electric vacuum pump (forget the brand, but it's really heavy and works well) and a set of 134 gauges. Put down a $300 deposit for both, use 'em, don't tear them up, return them, get your money back. It's almost too easy.

No $300? Put them on your credit card, if you get them back soon enough, you don't even get the interest charge for them.

The only thing is, look at the set of gauges, some of them get abused a little or are oily, if you aren't a butt when you talk to the counter guy (which is pretty hard not to be when you deal with the morons at Autozone) they will usually pick through the sets they have and give you the best looking one.

I got my manifold gauges on EBay but make sure you check the compatibility and about adaptors you may need. My set was for R12, R22, and R134a but the hoses had just R12 fittings. I also got adaptors for the R134a fittings included with the gauge set. Manifold gauge set will run about $70 to $80 on EBay.. Additionally, GM products require an adaptor for the high side fitting to match the standard R12 high side hose so I had to buy that separately. It can set you back about $15 to $20.. I got one of the Venturi type vacuum pumps at Harbor Freight for about $7 where those go for $20 on EBay so watch the prices. The Venturi type require that you have an Air Compressor capable of 90psi (100 is better) continuous to operate them so don't buy that unless you already have a very good Air Compressor. You will also need a can tap for your type of Freon (another $8 to $15)...
