i had to pretty much take the entire dash apart and remove the duct work to get to two of the screws in the back of the heater core shroud. also had to take the radio out and the heater controls out to acess another hidden screw. but on the bright side i got the hoses off with them breaking on me. yay i dont have to buy new hoses. also i came across something i have no idea what it was. two levers named left vent and right vent under the steering wheel. what do vent do these open or close?
you know i read several people saying its going to be really hard to change the heater core and take several hours, so i set a day for me to work on it all day, and i got the core out in 30 minutes, and got the new one back in, in 20 minutes. people say the top bolts are hard to get at, but if i remember correctly i used a swivel on the end of an extension, and they were really easy.

i found out what they are for. they go to vents inside the car under the dash. far left of the driver side and far right of the passenger side. here i was hoping that they were something cool. drat!
