Squeeling when heat is on?

Everytime I turn my heat on. the hear a squeeling sound coming from the vents. How do I get to the fan to check it out?

There's pic of the fan housing in the following pic:

Remove the necessary wiring and bolts and pull the fan and cage out. I'd suggest stuffing a towel/rag under the housing to catch the screws which you will undoubted drop (Don't ask me how I know!).

How would the alt/belt impact noise from switching on the heat?

Re: Squeeling when heat is on?

he said it squeals when he turns on the heat. the blower motor draws a nice bit of power so the extra drain on the alternator could cause it to squeal if the belt was loose or bad

Re: Squeeling when heat is on?

Nah, it was the blower motor. Pulled the cage off and it squeeled when I spun the shaft.

Is true about the belt though-mine will do that with
a loose belt.
