406 w/ stock radiator?
I am planning to put my 406 (chevy) in my TA, using the stock radiator. This engine stayed cool in my truck with the stock 3 row and A/C even in the hot, humid summers here in Cesspool except in the occasional traffic jam @ 95 degrees. I am not really willing to install an expensive aluminum radiator that reqiures fabrication to install.
The engine isn't really a monster motor, it has a 270 Comp Magnum cam, stock Sportsman heads with 1.6 rockers, +.030 bore (I don't know the wall thickness as it wasn't soniced when rebuilt) 5.7 rods, about 9.75 to 1 static compression and Edelbrock RPM with a Holley. Like I said, nothing too special.
I really plan to run the car mostly in the fall/winter as the summers here are torture with glass T-tops. That alone may pass the need for any further conversation, but I would like to hear from anyone else who has had some sort of experience with this set up.
Btw...yes I searched and I am on the board numerous times a week and have yet to really find info directly related to my proposal.
Thanks.

Re: 406 w/ stock radiator?
I'm sure you're going to get a lot of opinions & personal experiences, pro's & cons. I will tell you mine. I have the original radiator in my '85. Originally a 305 TPI, it has been a 383 for the past 16 years, AFR 195's, cam & 1.6:1's, 10:1, SupeRam EFI. I have changed the stat to a 160 & programmed the single fan to come on @ 160. I have never had an overheating episode, ever. I realize your carbed system may, or may not make a difference.
