Like what Stephen said, that is what I did, wired the fans to power on when the engine is running. Works great

not to sound like a jerk, but like I remember years back being told, try the search function first if you have not yet. Repeat questions take up room on the server. Generally, if the wiring is normal, no faults and no one has modified your wiring, no the fans should not both turn on when you turn the ignition on.

Re: Should the dual fans turn on with ignition?

Somebody rewired your fans somehow, they're not designed to work that way stock. Here's some stuff about how its supposed to be https://www.thirdgen.org/electric_co..._spec_mod_dual Depending on your usage it might work OK for you for now. Depends on how well it was done. Worth finding out. Check out other posts on here on the same subject by using the search feature as resinlake suggested. Have Fun!

If the engine is already hot to the point that the fans should be on? Then yes.

First thing in the morning, when an engine is cold? Then no. A former owner has rewired them to be on at all times. Nothing to worry about if so. I've done tat in the past on other cars, when they needed the extra cooling on hot days.

It is. Don't feel like anybody was trying to run you off. But once you've been here years 7 years & years &.......You'll begin to understand the frustration of having to answer the same questions over & over, when there is even a FAQ that answers that, and a search feature available for people to utilize & get their questions answered much faster than hoping somebody sees your question and answers it.

Welcome to TGO!

I will try search next time. I did install a new fan relay switch and that did not help, so it must be wired to stay on. Since i am not driving this car in the winter and do not need the heater to run at maximum temperature, i should just leave it alone, it will not hurt but only help. Right

Only drawbacks are shorter fan life and more power draw on the electrical system (meaning less gas mileage), but I would find out how they re-wired it so if it goes bad you can fix it or wire it back to stock.
