AC delete using American Graffiti box
Hey guys. I deleted my AC system and i got the ac delete box from American Graffiti. Drilling holes and making a hole for the resistor is mandatory. Here is a shot of the work done.
now i have a question, the rubber pipe that comes from the tail of the blower has to be connected for sure or can i leave unplug? Anyone in here have used this box?

I'm not sure what the point in the rubber tube is really. I always assumed it was a method of moving some air to the blower motor to keep it cool, but I really have no clue.

The rubber tube is to provide airflow to cool the electromotor
I was going to use one of their boxes but after buying one but never receiving anything but lame excuses about how they would be fabbing a new batch blablabla I bought a steel factory one.

I got this one from Hawksthirdgenparts. Gm doesn't make the steel boxes anymore and used ones are hard to find/pricy for their rusty shape. Been looking for one since the summer. I decided to get this one and it looks good! I found a nice way of solving the problem. Will post some shots tomorrow

I lucked out twice, I found both of mine right here in the Netherlands. The one on my camaro was in better shape than the one on my TA though (a couple of little dents), I had been looking for them for quite a while and because I couldn't find any that someone wasn't asking 300 Euros for (400-450usd ... from a guy in Germany LOL) I wanted to buy the AG one. That's why I initially forked over the money to buy one. Lucky me, I bought it via ebay.

I went to Homedepot and i got this "wet fitting". its used in circuits outside the house. one side is threaded and the other is flat. the flat side is 1/2 inch Dia. it comes with a plastic nut which i used on the inside. here is the installation.

Re: AC delete using American Graffiti box
An alternative would have been to buy a replacement blower motor, they usually don't use that tube, and come with a plug to fill the hole in the housing.

Re: AC delete using American Graffiti box
I like this box because it is light and has a good finishing coat. Sadly it is pricey and could have a better functional design(connection for the pipe/wider flange to apply the gasket between the box and the firewall). I am happy and let me see if tomorrow i finish the whole swap. Busy with college lately.
