I have searched this thread and tried everything. Only thing i can think of is coolent does not have enough time in radiator. 160* thermostat with 160* fan switch. When my ac is on the car will overheat on the highway. air dam is fine. radiator is new. And of course at idle it will overheat (240) with a 160* thats overheating to me. is there after market fans i can use that work with these cars?

You are correct a 160 Thermostat will not give the radiator enough time to cool down the coolant when outside temps are high. I have found the 180 works great in both winter and summer (even though a 170 is offered). I have found the dual fan set ups found in 2001 and newer Old Intrigue's work great. They bolt right up to the radiator so be sure you pull the top and lower mounting hardware and keep the bolts from the radiator when you pull the fans. A little trimming of the shroud is needed and this can be swapped in and will take a few hrs to do. These fans use the same pig tail as what is in your car now so no electric work is required. I pulled the nut out when I drilled through my radiator and then installed the nut and drove the bolt in.

4th gen fans work great on our cars. put a higher thermostat in that car also.

alright guys thanks, ill be swapping out the therostat soon. now what about the switch. should i go to a 180ish switch also?

You might want to get a Airdam if you don't have one. I went through trying to replace everything to fix my over heating problem. I got a Airdam and it's fixed. I live in Az and we have hot temps. Works great with the AC on high for hrs. No over heating. You might want to give it a try before tearing out the thermo. Good luck
