4th gen radiator in a 3rd?

Will a 4gen radiator fit in a 3rd? I found one with ac condenser and a dual fan set up for 100 bucks on Craig's list

Re: 4th gen radiator in a 3rd?

If you verify the fans do work, not a bad score. The stock 3rd gen fans are terrible as far as moving airflow at low vehicle speeds-airdam or not. Its all about proper shrouding and sealing the shroud to the radiator and pulling maximum air through the condenser. The LT1 fans are far superior and worth the work to install them.

I just finished an LT1 fan install in a customers 57 Nomad because he had terrible idle/low speed cooling and after installing my 3 speed control to go with it, it was night and day over the electric fans he had in there before. Temp came on at 205 and dropped engine inlet temp to 170 in just 45 seconds! Fans shut back off and stayed off for about 8 minutes before cycling again. It was 102 degrees in his shop yesterday too. Engine was a mildly built 468.

The crappy 3rd fans simply don't compare-and IMO it is 50/50 bad shroud design and wimpy motors.
