Troubleshoot weird ignition issue, Rbob?

Having some trouble and MSD tech isnt very fast with ideas...

TPI car with 8366 Dizzy, 8226 coil.

Works like a charm with one exception....When starting and If car just fires up and dies and key is in "on" postionen something happens. I can hear a pulsating "buzzing" sound from MSD coil, and when this happens the injectors are firering. Hooked up a scanner and when the "buzzing" sounds appear the rpm is set to 6400rpm(max) and this with 100kPa from MAP sensor making the engine flood.............

MSD answer
"your stock computer system is picking up EMI noise from the coil. this is common on this set up, what you need to do is relocate the stock coil away from the rest of the harness and remote mount it to the fire wall. Call in so we can hook u up with a new coil wire."

Have
- seprated all the wires
- moved coil to fender
- tested stock coil
-> still the same

I can think of 4 more things to try..
- Remove MSD box
- Remove MSD dizzy
- Replace MSD ign.module
- Replace MSD Magnetic Pickup

any ideas of what to try first?

Not having much luck with that MSD distributor. I did a quick search to see which kind it was and ran into your thread on the MSD site.

I've always preferred GM distributor parts. Since the MSD box doesn't interface with the ECM, I'd start by using a GM ignition module. It would be better to switch the whole distributor out with a GM one. And don't use the MSD box.

Will try a new ign.module. Otherwise I will remove the MSD stuff.
