746 ECM? Prom?

I believe my 92rs 305tbi 700r4 runs a 746 ecm, is this correct? I am soon planning to drop a l05 from a caprice. I read everywhere that if I do indeed have the 746 I could just swap the prom out from a caprice l05. does anyone have the serial#'s for what proms will work?

Yes, the '8746 ECM. And yes to using a Caprice chip. Note that it has to also be from the '8746 ECM. ANLU is one such chip that will work.

Re: 746 ECM? Prom?

Hello everyone I figured I would give a long term update. Everything seems to be good, I did notice that my frequent code 32 for EGR that I have been living with for the past 15 years seems to have disappeared. I hear it’s pretty notorious around here. I also notice that I have more power especially when I run 89 octane. I wonder if I want to read the chip again for the stock bin I could use ostrich and not risk breaking the new chip again??
