Car: 1985 IROC-Z
Engine: 1989 350 4 bolt roller block

AFR's for speed
It seems like in my old carb days that you wanted to run around a 13.2 AFR for power and around 15.5 for mileage. It also seems like there was a crossover point for torque vs horsepower. Something on the order of run a little lean for extra torque until the Horsepower/Torque crossover point and then go rich.
Is there any validity to this point?????
Also, if it is true it adds other questions. Like, if you can only set up the ECM for one AFR setting instead of by rpm range, can you fool the ECM by changing VE tables so that the mixture will read rich when you datalog it?
I'm new to this stuff but I'm reading a lot and will only have more questions to ask as I go along

Just set the ecm to run open loop, and you can run any AFR you want anywhere.
