ebl running 4bbl TB & 4 high impedence injectors
Hey all, was floating around the net today, and found a site selling a 4 barrel tb, that allows you to use 4 injectors. The smaller style like in the tpi and all. I was talking to the machinest in work, and we are going to attempt to use 2 stock GM tb's, take out the shafts & butterflies. I have a chnk off aluminum, and I am going to mill a 4 bbl tb out of it. I wanted to use 4 high impedence injectors with my EBL, but i don't have the driver upgrade done to it. According to RBobs site, www.dynamicefi.com, I can run 4 injectors no problem. Assuming I am reading it right. The next concern I have is do I make the front and rear butterflies open at the same time? Or try and make the progressive. BTW, I'l still be using an iac.
Here is a pic of the TB I found.
I'm not sure If I should make the injectors fire in on an angle like that, or make a halo type bracket and hang em from the top, like the stock tbi injectors. I thought I had seen injectors the fire at an anlge, instead of strait down, or maybe that was nos injectors.
I could just convert the intake to take 8 injectors, and use a 4bbl TB insted, but what fun is that? lol. Besides, I am turboing this car, I have one turbo, an aux injector plate, a piggyback ecm for the injectors, but the parts gathering is slow to come due to money, but I like the control the ebl has over the current n2o kit on the car, and the boost control features, as I won't be boosting this engine over 15 psi. (static cr is between 9.5 and 10:1 already)
What do you guys think??

Re: ebl running 4 saturated injectors
Your plan sounds doable, but I wouldn't use the stock TBI units butterflies and throttle shafts if you are trying to make this fit a standard Holley sized flange. The spacing is too far apart on the TBI butterflies for that. However if you are trying to make a Dominator sized unit then the stock ones would work.
I'm working on something similar but using the whole TBI units machined down to make a Dominator sized 4 barrel TBI for my drag engine, its a thread on here with "Franken 4 barrel TBI" in the title. I'm making pretty good progress on it and in a week or 2 I'll update it with some pictures and more info.

Paul, I have been following your thread. Been wating for some updates/pics. I never thought to check the spacing of the throttle bores to fit a standard holley flange. I make have a junk holley or 5 laying around (who doesn't?) I can steal the hardware from the baseplate and use it for this. I'd like to see your pics and progress as soon as you are done, keep us informed!
