Using SAUJP_V4, Idle question

I am using the SAUJP_V4 on my 5l tpi manual car (thanks to vernw)

the question I have is: (first the background)

I have everything running well, however, yesterday the idle at a stop was high 1275 rpm's usually it is 775-800. The car was fully warmed up, however, the air was colder than it has been since I have tuned it (about 35 deg F). I am almost positive that the cold intake air is what effected the high idle. Later in the day (65 deg air) it was fine.

What variable should I be focusing on for idle /w cold intake air?

Thanks
Tom

Re: Using SAUJP_V4, Idle question

Anyone?

I would think it has to do with a MAT table...

What does this table do?
IAC Param, Idle Timeout Steps vs. Coolant or MAT Temp ?

Re: Using SAUJP_V4, Idle question

in your first thread, was that the first stop you came to after going closed loop? and did it idle down at that stop, and then all successive stops after that, the idle was normal?

Re: Using SAUJP_V4, Idle question

OK,

New observation. Since when I leave work, Usually I do not have the high idle problem, I tried something new...

This morning I had the high Idle, steps peged out at the max steps that I have set for throttle follower 85. Car relatively warm and the steps were still 85, did not matter at what speed I was going.

Came to stop and shut off the car. Re started and WHAMMO Idle dropped to 15 steps and rpms settled in nicely. No issue with idle the rest of the drive.

My question, what would be causing this?

Re: Using SAUJP_V4, Idle question

Minimum TPS value was reset with the key-off, restart. Check the data log for the TPS% at idle when the idle is high. See if it is above the max TPS% idle threshold.

Re: Using SAUJP_V4, Idle question

TPS% SHOWS 0%.

Would that be at address 647 ? (IAC PID Enable param, Min TPS)

It was .78% and I moved it up to 1.17% (I did this yesterday and still had the problem)

Re: Using SAUJP_V4, Idle question

This could be due to one of the manual trans settings for the IAC.
I have yet to experience anything other than a flare on startup with the automatic.
Must be one of the lesser known definition items.
Others who have similar experience are using manual as well.
