I ran a wire from D10 into A12. It starts and runs, but the fan runs, the SES light is on, and it's running super rich and rough.
Jumped A&B and got 21 and 34.

The settings that are being used for fuel are based on the resistors in the memcal, not the program values which are tuned for the setup.
If you don't have the correct memcal/resistors it will run like pooh.
Even with the right memcal the settings are only to keep you from being stranded. It won't run that great. The programming needs to be active to properly control the system.

I'm using the same memcal as the others (730 in a 165ecm), and followed the instructions, but looking at the diagrams for the 165, the knock sensor pin is B7. I have it plugged into B11 which is labeled unused(esc).
I also see a (maf ground) at A11, which I didn't seem to have with the 302ecm. Should I try moving the knock to B7 and do a Maf ground somehow for A11?
If the program in the chip isn't active I don't know how to make it active other than hook up a pin that wasn't on the list.
When i turn the key to run the ses blinks on, off, and then stays on, which is right. And it shows 12 when I jump A&B (plus 21 (tps) and 34 (maf).

The xdf or bin has been modified to use the maf. It's all in the "v6 owners take a look" thread. I wrote it to the chip (double checked the start/end addresses too according to file size) The only thing I changed in the bin was the injector size (I have a 3.4 with 17lb injectors), but I'm thinking about pulling the chip back out and changing it back. I'm not 100% sure I changed it right to begin with.
My Haynes manual shows the EST wire being the same (b4), but the write ups in this forum and the other ecm forum show it being moved to D4.
I'm about to head to the junkyard and look for another 165 ecm.
Other than reburning the chip, trying another ecm in case this one is bad, and double checking wires, I can't think of anything else to do.
Put the 302 back in I guess for now, and start looking for the whole harness, 730 ecm, and MAP stuff to do the conversion that way, because this way isn't working (despite a few others having success).
I need to tune the ecm somehow because this 3.4's mileage vs my old 2.8 is frusterating me.
