Will a 27sf512 chip show an error code

When dropped into an 89 165 box that took a 16k memcal?
the car seem to run fine and I can datalog, emulate, but the recording shows the prom with an error, is it because it is bigger?

Re: Will a 27sf512 chip show an error code

I have an '89 165 box and use the Moates adapter and 27sf512 chips with no problems or error codes. Do you have your stock memcal installed on the end of the adapter? Does it throw a check engine light or just a code in the datalog? If only in the datalog I wouldn't worry about it if all else is fine. You must have the 27sf512 chip installed correctly or the car wouldn't start at all. Not sure what else it could be as mine is the same year and box as yours and my 27sf512 chips are a-ok.

Thanks, car runs fine and the log indicates a torough recodation, from begining to end, only the "prom error" code, correct, the prom is in the ZIF in the right direction, cause it starts. The Memcal is plugged into the adaptor and no SES light is on.

Thanks for the comfirmation!
