TCC Questions
I think that my TCC limits are set a little weird for my car now with the new gears. I have searched all weekend, taken some ideas from some post I found and burned some chips accordingly with no real change.
I think it is either TCC lockup problems or internal tranny problems. It seems that my tranny is "absorbing" horsepower. There are a couple things its doing that I know it should not. I really dont think its internal since the tranny has firm shifts and DOES NOT slip.
Also, it is NOT a TV issue, it has been set properly and have more than 3K miles on it since adjusted. If it wasnt adjusted properly the tranny would have been burned up long ago.
1. when slowing down from a higher speed and going around a turn, as I exit the turn, it seems that the car is in a higher gear than it should and the car seems to "labor" until I give it more gas to make it downshift (or come out of lockup)
2. With a well running 350tpi/3.45 posi (new plugs, wires, cap, rotor, injectors etc) from a dead stop, I cant even get the slightest tire spin when taking off hard. I would think I should be able to rip the tires really well all through 1st and 2nd.
I really think it has to do with something ECM/PROM/TCC lockup problem.
Any help would be appreciated

Re: TCC Questions
A bad torque converter can absorb engine power.
As for the TCC being locked or the trans in too high a gear after a turn, need to find out which one it is first. If it is the TCC being locked that can be changed.
Head up to the tuning guide book sticky, chapter 5, '8746/'7747/'8063 section, TCC Logic link.

Re: TCC Questions
I read that TCC logic link during my searches this weekend.
What is the best way to figure out if it is stuck in a higher gear or if it is the TCC?
Also, what are some signs of a bad TC?
Also, can I just set the TCC lockup temperature really high to achieve the same thing as unplugging the wire from the trans, just for testing purposes?

Re: TCC Questions
I know on the 2004R there have been posts about the lockup NOT disengaging. I have not heard of that in the 700R4. Knowing it is engaged and touching the pedal should prove its releasing by watching the tach rise as soon as the release happens.
Also, what are some signs of a bad TC?
I have a soggy converter as well and have pondered how to determine if it is the converter as well. Lots of parts into my trans rebuild but there is a bit of the soggyness to it as you describe.
I have good torque out of it from start but as rpm rises, the torque just doesn't get through.
I'm 90% certain it is the converter (because it was only $200 for a 22-2400 stall)
I have a 3800 triple disk L/U going in sometime this summer as my test of this. Would like to know beforehand though.
