Are you sure that you are using the correct ADX?
The set up for the cable is correct? TP RT shows a "Cable Found and Functional" message when tested?

From the TP help file:
That is a common problem that there is no log file created (because it was not specified previously)
Especially with a new install and it hasn't been set to log yet.
Also there is a "Temp.xdl" file that is the catch-all until the actual file is created. I've had to search for this file in the past if my laptop locks up while I was recording for a long time.
Most of the time I could rename it and get my data providing I didn't start another log.
Have you been able to select/create a file name yet?
To record a logging session:
1) Select a datastream definition and connect to your ECM as you normally would.
2) Be sure you're actively monitoring.
3) Select a log file to record to.
This can either be a new file, or an existing one. If pre-existing, a new session will be added to the existing log file.
4) Press the record button in either the setup tab or on the log transport.

That one deserves a triple Doh!
The Temp.xdl is a valid point for V5 though.
It could be the timing of the command and or comm type issue since he is showing connected. Something is coming from the ECM its just not understandable.
Might try one of the port logging tools to see what is actually being transmitted and rec'd.
Has helped me on occasion to see things are being cut short.

Does it show its gathering data? I think it tells you at the bottom how many bits its recording. When you say 'stop' does a 'save' window pop up? You have to save that file to be able to see what you just recorded.
