Cooling Fans Temp Change

I decided to try and get the car to run cooler while sitting in stop and go traffic. I still have the stock 195 Tstat in the car, So I decided to try my fan on temperature at 210 and off temperature at 200 just to see if It keeps the car cooler. The gauge shows that it didn't change at all. The fans still turned on at 225 (235 maybe) or whatever was the factory setting. Why would the fans not turn on at the lower temperature when I set them to a specific temperature in the prom. Do I need to do anything else to lower the fan temperature??

I would need to look at a wiring diagram to be certain, but the stock ecm should be able to control two fans. Might just require a few wire changes.

Re: Cooling Fans Temp Change

Yes, I have 2 fans. I think it turns one on at the set temperature I set (or its suppose to) the other turns on at a certain temperature that the sensor in the head determines or when the ac is on correct.

The weird thing is that I set the temperature to turn ON at low 200's and it didnt seem to turn on until 220 or so according to the gauge.

Re: Cooling Fans Temp Change

Gauge is likely off, go by what temperature the ECM is seeing & using.
