how to wire a toggle switch to make wipers work help quick!!

hey all the car is running good but since i took all the wiring out and rewired the car except for the lights adn the gauges since they worked with otu the ecm i need to runa toggle switch to make my wipers come on when need be.. i thought i could run power to the plug in under the wiper motor but it doesnt seem to work if someone has done this or knows how to help me so i can drive the car if i have to in the rain thanks!!

fyi: there's a clutch inside the motor that needs power applied. just because the motor runs does not mean the windshield wipers will move too.
