| Finally, somone who shares my problems. I have a 1988 GTA also that has that same problem. I found that if you take out the fuse for the interior functions (lights, radio, and command center in our case) and plug it back in, it seems to reset the computer and the message displays the "System Pontiac OK" but as soon as I turn on my headlights, the message will turn into F Lamps, although everything is working fine. I have looked everywhere for an answer, and I have posts at 3 other sites that will have some replies soon. Remember, early 1988 was the last year for the digital dash due to complaints and problems.
Also I have a question you might be experiencing, I noticed recentlly that one day when I was accelerating, when the tach gets to around 3200 RPM and I continue to accelerate, the little bars (digital representation of units) start to go rapidly up and down (increasing and decreasing) untill I shift. It only does this if I go over 3200 RPM. Have you had this problem? Any help will be aprreciated. Sorry I could't help, but if I find anything out I will let you know. |
