I HAVE A DIGITAL DASH ON MY 88 GTA 350 MY MESSAGE CENTER SAYS MY F LAMPS ON THE COMPUTER BUT ALL MY LIGHTS WORK ON THE CAR. I HAVE DISCONECTED THE BATTERY AND RESET IT BUT I CAN TURN ON THE PARK LIGHTS WITH OR WITHOUT FOG LIGHTS AND MESSAGE CENTER SAYS OKAY ON THE COMPUTER BUT AS SOON AS I HIT THE ACTUALL HEADLIGHT SWITCH TO BRING UP HEADLIGHTS THE MESSAGE COMES BACK ON F LAMPS AND THEN WHEN I TURN OFF THE CAR AND GO BACK OUT AND CRANK IT BACK UP THE MESSAGE IS STILL ON FOR F LAMPS ALL OF THE LIGHTS WORK ON FRONT OF CAR IS THERE A SENSOR FOR THE FRONT LAMPS ON THESE CARS. ANY INFO ON THIS SUBJECT WOULD BE APPRICIATED.

Finally, somone who shares my problems. I have a 1988 GTA also that has that same problem. I found that if you take out the fuse for the interior functions (lights, radio, and command center in our case) and plug it back in, it seems to reset the computer and the message displays the "System Pontiac OK" but as soon as I turn on my headlights, the message will turn into F Lamps, although everything is working fine. I have looked everywhere for an answer, and I have posts at 3 other sites that will have some replies soon. Remember, early 1988 was the last year for the digital dash due to complaints and problems.
Also I have a question you might be experiencing, I noticed recentlly that one day when I was accelerating, when the tach gets to around 3200 RPM and I continue to accelerate, the little bars (digital representation of units) start to go rapidly up and down (increasing and decreasing) untill I shift. It only does this if I go over 3200 RPM. Have you had this problem? Any help will be aprreciated. Sorry I could't help, but if I find anything out I will let you know.

I'm not familiar with the GTAs digital dash and that conviencince center, but on some newer cars, there's a fiber-optic sensor in the plug that goes into the bulb that sometimes gets dirty to the point that it fools the sensor into thinking the light's not working. Maybe you could check the connectors?
