pLz HeLP!!!!!

I just bought a $180 CD Player for my camaro. After hooking it up, i noticed when i turn the volume level to about 25 or so, my CD player would just shut off for about 5 seconds then turn back on. At the same time every light in the car will start to dim or flicker. Also, whenever i hit the brake, it does the same thing. What would cause this? Any help would be appriciated. :hail:

My best guess is you prob blew a fuse. When I installed my entire stereo I accidently blew 4, thats right 4 fuses, just by letting a few wires touch each other, effecting everything from dome light to dimer, to high beams, taillights..

Its an easy thing to check at least, even if im wrong I only killed a minute of ur life

I'd say its drawing more power than the alternator can cope with (or a weak battery) and its dipping below 12v. The stereo then shuts off because it doesn't have enough juice. Once it shuts off, the voltage goes back over 12v and comes back on. This also explains why your lights are dimming.

Well, i checked all the fuses, and they seemed to be fine. So it probably is the alternator. I might go buy one today, if that doesnt work, i really have no idea what else it would be. There might be some wires that ARE really touching each other that i wont be able to reach, cuz when i bought the car, almost all the wires were hacked....
