delco battery problem
I realise not strictly 3rd gen specific, but I have a practically brand new AC delco Pro battery (7 year warranty -though not valid as I'm in UK) but my brake light switch slipped a bit last night and left my lights on all night (why do the brake lights work with the ignition off?!?!?!!? -that's another issue... seems pointless to me)
Anyway, the real problem.
I charged the battery all day. It's now (according to the charger) fully charged, but where I originally had a bright green glow from the inspection widow at the top, I now have the black hole (though if you wiggle the battery about a bit you still see the green).
Am I panicking prematurely (and will the chemicals in the battery settle down) or does it sound like the battery is ruined. It cost me the equivalient of about $120 so I hope I've not ruined it (I've only drained it once). I've drained real real cheap batteries in the past and they've always sprung to life at least 3 times.
thanks
Andrew

do a slow charge and you should be fine. the green eye will get stuck and show black untill you shake the battery some but as long as you charge it at a nice slow rate you shaould have no problems
