Big Problem, no start and smoke coming from the steering column
I got a big problem. I'm at college right now. My car was in the shop for alighnment. My dad goes to pick it up today and when he goes to start it it dont start and smoke start coming out of the column. Now everytime the key is turned to start smoke comes out.
What happened? I replaced the ignition switch last week.
I wont be able to see it for myself till this weekend.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
matt

Matt,
You just aren't having any good luck with your car are you. Are you sure you haven't ticked someone off and they are sitting there with a VOODOO doll of your car sticking pins in it? J/K Good luck man!!
P.S. I know the name of this Witch Doctor that makes house calls.

Danno: thats what I figured, i heard the turnsignal switch does that sometimes, but since it dont start its got to have something to do with the starting wiring, right?
trickster: hahaha, i may need to give the doc a call. My luck has been so bad with this car since i got it, it makes me wish i waited and got a different one.
Also, i need to disable a alarm I found under there. Ever since I got the car its been on there and i didnt know it,whenever power was lost and restored the turnsignals would flash. Now when I replaced the ignition switch and rehooked the battery up it did it, but it also wouldnt start. So I pulled 2 inline fuses to the alarm box and it let it start. But after I got it started I found out that acc position didnt work. I left it as that cause i just wanted it to start for now do I could get it to the body shop and alighnment shop. the alarm is a Python I think. Its a little square black box with a ton of wires goin in it. I want to remove it completley and take all the uneccessary wiring out. How do I go abouit doing this? Or can a alarm install place remove it for me?
Thanks,
Matt
