86-92 swap

I'm really not sure what board to post this on so I'm just going to split up all my questions onto seperate boards.....
I'm thinking of buying a 92 T/A rolling shell--it'll only have a drum rearend. I'm thinking of parting my 86 T/A(my avatar)and building the 92. The guy is going to take the drivetrain and the ecm and related wiring. I'll use my wiring in the 86--which came from my 89 to use for my motor and trans and body.
would this cause any problems? Since the 92 is SD setup and my 89 is a maf setup(which doesn't matter since there won't be any wiring).
How about the newer hatch motor--will it take the wiring from my 89 setup or can I just use the 89 hatch motor in the 92--different mounting points?
Would I be able to use the 92 dash harness spliced into the 89 motor harness? If not I also have the 89 dash harness.
Thx guys!

would I be able to plug the 89 engine harness and use the maf setup-into the 92 body and dash harness w/no problems?
Will it work? I'm also going to use the 89 ecm setup.

I am doing kind of the opposite, putting a 91 dash harness into my 82's dash which I beilieve has the convenience center and computer diagnostic port mounted in the same place as yours.

My 91 harness has the ecm port on the drivers side, and the convenience center appears to be mounted differently as well, probably a small problem, So I don't know if your stuff will mount into the 92's dash right, I know your ecm harness should work fine since the 91 tbi harness fit my 82 without a problem.

if your not using your steering column the 92 has like 6 wires going to the wiper switch and yours has like 4.

just little things I've run into but all seem to be fixable with a little work

Hmm--on my 86 I used a 92 dash setup. I have the 92 dash skeleton in there w/the factory switches in the 92 location.
I wonder what those steering column wires are for? 4 compared to 6?
So in your opinion the 92 dash harness will work w/the 89 motor harness and ecm?
